River’s Birth and Postpartum Story birthing truth: a collection of freebirth stories Oct 20, 2021

Endings, beginnings, death, birth, winter, spring. Flowing with what is. Being a woman. Being this sacred vessel of love and devotion and deep surrender and trust. I held my vision of the birth, where baby and I walk through the portal hand in hand, with my beloved husband energetically supporting us, and my sisters and elders from afar holding space for us, and I just knew everything is going to be alright. Everything is going to be in alignment with the Divine. We are safe.

I had reached a plac...

~Our Dance~

It is always a bit of a challenge to determine when labor actually starts.  There is so much work done in each pregnancy. We could start at conception or even before if we were to really address the labor, emotional and physical, which women venture through leading up to birth.

For me it was accepting things as they are.  Waiting patiently and reminding myself that we were having our slow dance and it was a hard space to be in but beautiful and exactly what I wished for...

The Freebirth of Hannah Jane Wooten birthing truth: a collection of freebirth stories Oct 20, 2021

I went to bed Monday the 27th feeling a lot of period type cramps but was able to sleep easily. I woke up on Tuesday the 28th and had my first contraction at 8am. I canceled my chiropractor appointment and got ready for the day. I decided to run one more errand and ran to target. I had a few contractions while there but they were pretty easy to manage. They continued until about 2pm when the maintenance guy brought over our new dishwasher. At this point they had stopped completely. I decided to ...

Stephanie's Freebirth birthing truth: a collection of freebirth stories Oct 20, 2021

September, I opened up to receive my fourth baby with my husband. Life was busy, and chaotic, and my fertile window opened and closed without our coming together at all. October and November passed in the same way— always too busy to make love in my fertile time. December came, and I was not going to let this time get away— I wanted a summer baby. We finally connected during my fertile time, and I KNEW as we made love that my baby was sparking into life.

I felt like we were floating in outer s...

Jaime’s Third Birth, First Freebirth birthing truth: a collection of freebirth stories Oct 20, 2021
Zev's birth was better than I ever imagined birth could be. When I watched my birth video, I am reminded that birth can be simple and enjoyable. I felt so completely capable and knowing. I am so thankful for the freebirth society course and online community, which was so helpful in my medical system deprogramming ( 10 years working in hospitals as a physical therapist, and later as a birth doula attending birth center and hospital births) and the FBS podcast which was a daily companion on my lon...

Riley's First Birth - A Freebirth on Hawaii birthing truth: a collection of freebirth stories Oct 20, 2021

The first book that came to me during my pregnancy, was Laura Shanley’s Unassisted Childbirth. I did not have the idea to seek the information, rather it felt like it just arrived. Receiving the book was the first of many "nudges" from spirit that I received during my pregnancy, guiding me to plan for an unassisted birth. Though I initially sought one, I couldn't seem to find a midwife with whom I resonated enough to feel a full “yes” to share the journey of my pregnancy and birth. It soon becam...
